About

Cylch Meithrin Y Felinheli is a Welsh-medium early years education setting based in Y Felinheli, Gwynedd. It provides high-quality early education for children aged 2½ up to school age, offering a nurturing and inclusive environment where Welsh is the language of play, learning, and care.

The Cylch provides:

  • Welsh-language immersion for children, regardless of their home language

  • Play-based learning led by professional, friendly, and enthusiastic staff

  • Social development through group activities and interaction

  • Preparation for Welsh-medium education, helping children transition smoothly into school

Sessions are held in the Caban Clyd, located at the rear of Ysgol Y Felinheli.

The team includes a Responsible Individual, Administrative Manager, a dedicated leader and experienced practitioners who oversee daily operations and care.

We also offer a Lunch Club (Meithrin Mwy), Wrap-Around sessions, as well as an After School Club to support families with childcare beyond the usual Cylch hours.

Cylch Meithrin Y Felinheli has long been a cornerstone of the local community, supporting families in Y Felinheli and surrounding areas. It was established to promote Welsh-language education from an early age and has grown into a trusted and popular setting.

The group is managed by a voluntary committee and continues to thrive thanks to community support and national guidance from Mudiad Meithrin.
